Behind the name:
Mazurah (mah-ZOO-rah) carries a name rooted in cultural, spiritual, and elemental meaning, reflecting the essence of our integrative approach, our community, and the universality of human experience.
Mazu (mother ancestor): a Chinese sea goddess who was recognized for her ability to calm stormy seas. She was known for her compassion and spiritual insight, offering safe passage to those who were displaced or seeking a home.
Ruach (breath, wind, spirit): Hebrew for the invisible life-force that connects all beings, the living breath of creation that moves through the wind, lungs, emotion, and soul.
The name Mazurah was inspired to represent the cultural diversity of adoptees and the greater community, while also embodying the elemental connection between nature and spirit.
